Can you travel with CBD? A Guide

When you've discovered the benefits of CBD, it can be difficult to imagine leaving it behind when you go on holiday. In fact, many people take CBD with them if they are anxious flyers, struggle to sleep in new environments or simply so they can come back feeling well rested.
However, it's important to remember that the rules and regulations for travelling with CBD differ from country to country and airline to airline. Keep reading as we discuss the do's and don'ts of travelling with CBD in the UK and USA.
Can you travel with CBD in the UK?
Yes, you can travel within the UK with hemp-derived CBD made from EU-approved hemp. You should also be able to bring CBD oil with you on board domestic flights within the UK, and on international flights to the UK as long as it contains less than 0.2% THC. We still recommend contacting your airline and customs in advance though.
To check the levels of THC within your CBD product, you can review the Certificate of Analysis (CoA) available on the website to make sure they meet this standard. All CBII products contain less than 0.2% THC and come with CoAs from third-party testing lab reports that outline the exact amount of cannabinoids within them. CBII oils are also FSA-verified for extra peace of mind.
If you're flying with CBD within the UK, make sure that the bottle is under 100ml. If you're looking for travel-size bottles that won't take up a lot of space in your toiletry bag, then any CBII oil and gummies are great travel-size companions.
Can you fly abroad with CBD?

It gets more complicated when you're looking to fly internationally with CBD because the regulations on the level of THC allowed (and the legal classifications of products) differ from country to country.
While CBD is legalised in many countries, there are still many countries where CBD is not permitted. Regulations can also vary from airline to airline. So, it's very important to check with both your flight provider and your destination country (or applicable embassy) before you take CBD on an airplane.
Can you travel with CBD in the USA?
The short answer is yes, you are able to bring hemp-derived CBD products with you on a plane when you're flying within the United States. Thanks to the Hemp Bill, CBD is not considered a prohibited item.
The TSA website states “Marijuana and certain cannabis-infused products, including some Cannabidiol (CBD) oil, remain illegal under federal law except for products that contain no more than 0.3 percent THC on a dry weight basis or that are approved by FDA.”
This means that if your CBD products are within the legal limit of THC as instructed by the Hemp Bill (as all CBII oils are), then it's safe to bring them with you on a domestic flight in the USA.
If you're taking your CBD oil in your carry-on, then make sure that it's less than 3.4 ounces (100ml) of liquid. This goes for all oils, tinctures or creams. Make sure you put it in a clear quart-size bag with your liquids and that you take them out of your bag when you go through the TSA screening machine at airport security.
